Stripes & Red

Happy Monday everyone! Well today on the darling blog I would love to emphasize how much I love stripes. Really though, at least a quarter of my wardrobe is striped. Stripes are something that have stayed for many generations and never go out of style. There what we call classic. When an item of clothing or something is worn for more than a decade it becomes classic. Red is also my color pop in this outfit and it is my favorite color as well. These shorts are also made by yours truly.  Their younger boys shorts that I bought at Salvation Army for a couple of dollars. I cut them and sewed the cuffs. Simple as anything. Its my final days of shorts weather and I'm going into the autumn excited. I hope you have a lovely week!

Hello there Autumn

There was a poem I had to learn in middle school called "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. It was a poem about taking the path that seems distant, that not many would choose but yet it lead to the most amazing out come. On adventures with my best friend, are new thing is trying to take the "road not taken". Which lead us to stumble on such an amazing building as this in the middle of the woods. This outfit is pretty casual but it was good for the walk. Its the times when your far away from the world and all you can feel is the cool air and the smell of trees, that you feel Autumn from the inside. My leggings are lululemon. I live out of leggings in the winter and they were  a perfect investment. I hate when leggings are transparent, nobody wants to see that! I also live out of my vans, because well I am a sneaker kind of girl. I'm too excited about the weather change and it shows! Well happy autumn everyone!

The Little Things

Well here is my outfit of the day today. I finally am catching a breath from the crazy thing I call life. I shot my first wedding on Saturday and I'm blessed beyond all odds with the way the photos came out (I can't wait to post them). I also work two jobs, as well as my photography on the side. My life is insane but that why I made this blog, as a small outlook on the madness. This outfit is so simple yet incredible classy. The thing about my wardrobe is I find everything at awesome prices, people know me as the biggest bargain shopper. I probably paid around forty dollars for this outfit. This dress from H&M was a steal, for only ten dollars. You can always find great basic pieces there that fit with closely anything else in your wardrobe. I love this floppy hat because it lets me feel like I'm in a different generation or time where big floppy hats were worn at horse races and fancy events. Its always the little things to me that make me so happy! I'll be back with wedding photos!

In the Air this Morning

Happy Sunday! Overcast skies and the faint feeling of redemption is the forecast for the day. I had someone tell me my outfit was Pinterest worthy so I felt it fit in my blog very well. Being the girl whose had about fifty jobs J.Crew used to be one of them. That's when I got these fabulous pants. You can't see but they have the most adorable zippers near the waist. Don't worry you'll see them again! I'm not shy about using pieces with different outfits! This shirt is one of my favorites. I am indeed a Free People kind of girl. The bohemian styles and eccentric patterns rock my world. I also love a good deal and this shirt was $7.00 at the consignment store. Prime budget find! Mikaela my best friend is sporting Francesca's per usual. You'll see a lot of her seeing as she's my soul mate and we do everything together and I may steal her wardrobe and she steals mine! What are best friends for?
As for the redemption in the air, I find that as Sunday rolls around people around the country make their way to church. They are all reminded of the grace and forgiveness of their Savior that they may had lost during the week. They feel redeemed. Now clearly it's a state of speech to say I can smell it in the air, and that it's silly. Truly being reminded of Jesus's unending love for my beat soul brings me redemption. I hope you all have a great day!

The Art of Writing

Writing is something that has been lacking in my life. I have spent a lot of my time with my mind racing about the cares and concerns of memories that have nothing to do with the now. I bought this awesome book that I am ecstatic to share with you all "642 Things to Write About". It's full of blank pages with black lines for pretty penmanship; with sentence on top to get my mind flowing. For example..." The queen shows up at your door and asks to come in..." You finish the story of course. Creativity is lost in a lot of the world today. Social media take over, as I hypocritically write this on my blog (sarcastic of course), is slowly dragging the flow of thinking from everyone. No one takes the time to explain anything in a descriptive, fictional way. At one time or another I used to write poetry and short stories. It was real lovely to lay in the grass with my best friend Mikaela Fay and take turns writing in this quaint journal; enjoying these last days of summer of course. Fall is just around the corner!
